What would you like to hear on Green Day's next album?

What are everyone's hopes for the next album by Green Day? As of now, there haven't been any official announcements yet, and it may be several months until we get any information, but I wanted to ask what you guys would prefer their next album to sound like.

I hope they go back to an American Idiot-style tone, with songs similar to Jesus of Suburbia or Letterbomb. The production on Revolution Radio could have been better, and I'm hoping to hear a better overall sound on the next album.

I'm just interested to see what direction the band wants to go. One of my favorite albums is Warning. Even thought it's albums sells were the lowest, we wouldn't have gotten American Idiot without it.

Songs like Misery, I believe, are what led the band to explore the idea of a rock opera. The band also branched out from their "expected" sound by learning new instruments and song structures.

In my opinion, the band has always been progressive and authentic in what they've decided to release.

Uno, Dos, Tre (+Quatro) was, in my opinion, capturing the frantic pace the band had been on for the past 8 years. The overwhelming pressure to follow up two critically acclaimed rock operas.

I don't know how intentional it was, but, in a way, I can't think of a better "Third Act" to close out that era of Green Day. They released three albums and a documentary back-to-back, which culminated in the grand finale of Billie smashing one of his guitars and giving a middle finger to the music industry at the iHeart Radio Music Festival.

Revolution Radio was the boys going back to who they were and forgetting about what the world expected from them. They went back to their roots. They went back home.

What do I look forward to in their next album? I look forward to hearing how they've changed. I look forward to hearing what's influenced them. I'm interested to see if there's been a change in their perception of life. How will they enter into their 50's? How do punks age gracefully with their music? It's difficult to think of many bands that have done that, but I have confidence that Green Day will, and I'm excited to see that - whatever it may bring.

So, what do I want to hear on their new album? I want to hear them - the people of Green Day.
