21st Century Breakdown
From Green Day Wiki
21st Century Breakdown is the title of Green Day's 8th studio album. The album was announced by the band on the live broadcast of the 2009 Grammy awards. The album was released on May 15, 2009. Like "American Idiot" the album is a Rock Opera. 21st Century Breakdown is divided into three acts "Heroes and Cons", "Charlatans and Saints", and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" that follow a young couple Christian and Gloria having to deal with the mess our 43rd President left behind. The first sign of Green Day recording a new album was in October 2008 when two videos on Youtube showed the band in a studio recording the new material. On February 10, 2009 on the bands website a one minute teaser was released. The first single of the album "Know Your Enemy" was released on April 16th, and the official music video was released on April 24th on MTV UK. VH1 and MTV announced they would leak the album on May 8th, a week before the release date.
